Souls of Destiny: Prolouge

This is the beginning of my novel in progress, Souls of Destiny. I'm posting it here as a test, and to see if anyone's interested in reading more. Mainly just as a test.
Prologue: Souls of Destiny
Thousands of years ago, man lived on a different planet, in a different world. Then, man abandoned the planet, and was somehow forced to come into another realm. There were many differences, and just as many similarities between the two worlds. People in the new world, called Artius, can use their soul, their willpower, to accomplish physical feats that those from the old world could not hope to achieve. From resisting physical damage to the body, to moving at impossible speeds, it was clear that Artius allowed people to break many rules that had governed their forgotten world of old. Nobody alive remembers the Great Shifting today, and throughout the years, tales of the event have been obscured, altered, forgotten, and are even believed by some to be pure myth. Legends run rampant among the lands, but hard facts about the leaving of Planet Earth are nowhere to be found.
In the beginning years of man’s time on their new world Artius, chaos defined the world around them. The Dark God, named Moratalis, an entity that existed from the beginning of their recorded time, threatened the lives of everyone in Artius and spread his malevolence and reign of destruction. In the darkest of times a group of heroes known as the Eight Vanguards, came together and were united from each of their separate nations. The eight major nations are named after these people still today. After years of warring between each other, these eight men and women set their differences aside, and rose up and defeated Moratalis. Since Moratalis, being immortal, could not be killed, they instead locked his soul away in a dark crystal prison. In a final act of vengeance, the Dark God shattered his own soul into a hundred fragments, and the crystal that held them, into one hundred crystal shards, known now as The Dark Shards.
All of this has long ago been forgotten by most. Today the world of Artius is more peaceful than its chaotic beginnings. At least until now. Soon, the people of Artius will be tested yet again, and only through strength, courage and the bonding of man can they save themselves. Through pain, hardship, friendship and love, new heroes must arise again, and stand and be tested against the harshest trials and the most perilous journeys. These men and women’s souls hold destinies beyond their wildest dreams.
This is their story...

The Legend Begins...

Hello readers. I never knew how easy it was to make a blog until now. I saw my friend sporting a blog, and I figured, "Hey, if he can do that, I can do it too." Normally when this happens, I'm wrong. But this time, I was right!

So I have a blog now! Appropriately named "Dawn Wolf's Den", since I am Dawn Wolf, and this seems to be my domain. I can reign over all zero of my subjects– err, readers. I'm absolutely silly with excitement. It seems I'll be able to post tons of stuff here for no one to read. Or, if by chance someone happens to stumble upon these premisses on their epic journey through the harsh and cruel internet, I shall ensure they're journey wasn't for naught.

About me. Not that it matters, of course, but this IS my blog. If i didn't talk about me... well, that would just be silly. I'm nearly 19 years of age (One week), male, and attending Junior College. More or less. I play too many video games for my own good, and one day hope to get a job in game development. (The part where you draw pictures, not crunch numbers. I am not good at math.) I listen to a variety of music, own more DVDs than most ten people, and enjoy reading from time to time, although I do not read enough.

I'm currently working on a novel, and although it's more rough around the edges than an iron gear, I'm considering using this place as a place to post it, about it, or what not.

Well, that's about it. Actually, it's not, but if I kept blabbering on any longer, I think I would lose some respect from people. If I haven't already.

Right. This is Wolf, signing off...

Man that felt good.
